Our advanced design features address requirements such as high horsepower absorption, continuous slip service, thermal load dissipation, dynamic tensioning, static holding, and emergency stopping.
WCB3 Water-cooled brake
- 746 kW [1,000 hp] per disc offers faster tripping time and allows brake downsizing
- Robust design eliminates copper cracking
- Self-supporting brake eliminates costly support brackets
- Higher coolant flow with 60% lower pressure drop
WCB2/WCBD Disc-type externally cooled brake
- Special high-coefficient linings deliver 50% more torque
- Dynamic coefficient of friction is greater than its static coefficient of friction
- Optional dual-piston design improves control
- Thermal capacities up to 3,878 kW [5,200 hp]
- Torque capacities up to 819,027 Nm [7,254,450 lb-in]
WCS Externally cooled spring-applied brake
- Dynamic coefficient of friction is greater than its static coefficient of friction
- 1:1 dynamic-to-static torque ratio
- Thermal capacities up to 1,939 kW [2,600 hp]
- Torque capacities up to 174,431 Nm [1,545,000 lb-in]
WCSB Air-applied water- and air-cooled multiple-disc brakes
- Incorporates both a water-cooled brake and an air-cooled brake
- Provides dynamic tensioning, static holding, and emergency stopping capabilities
- Eliminates the need for multiple brake systems
- Materials reduce or eliminate stick-slip effects
- Thermal capacities up to 2,908 kW [3,900 hp]
- Torque capacities up to 571,119 Nm [5,058,625 lb-in]
