Hydraulic steering units
For smooth driving and maneuvering, Danfoss offers steering solutions at both the component and system levels. With more than 1,800 steering units (most with integrated valve functions) and 250 priority valves categorized by type, variant, and size, our product range suits applications including ordinary two-wheel (Ackermann) steering, articulated steering, automatic steering with sensors, and remote-controlled steering via satellite.

OSPB hydraulic steering units
OSPB steering units are available with a wide range of capabilities including displacements from 50 cm3 to 500 cm3 [3.05 in3 to 30.5 in3], recommended flows from 5 l/min to 70 l/min [1.32 US gal/min to 18.5 US gal/min], maximum steering pressures of 210 bar [3,045 psi], and maximum back pressures of 40 bar [580 psi]. Under normal conditions, they provide a low steering torque between 0.5 Nm and 3.0 Nm [4.43 lb-in and 26.6 lb-in] thanks to low-effort springs and a wide control range, and they are available in open-center non-reaction (ON), open-center reaction (OR), closed-center non-reaction (CN), and load-sensing (LS) configurations.
OSPD hydraulic steering units
The OSPD is a dual-displacement steering unit that makes machines of almost any size easy to maneuver. Under normal conditions, both rotary meters are active, and if a steering pump fails, even heavy vehicles can still be steered with the help of a smaller rotary meter in a two-rotary-meter arrangement. The ratio between normal steering displacement and emergency steering displacement ranges from two to seven.
OSPF hydraulic steering units
Our OSPF steering unit is well suited for small and medium fork lifts and compact wheel loaders. It features a low steering torque of 0.8 Nm to 3.0 Nm [7.08 lb-in to 26.6 lb-in] and a high back-pressure capability of 40 bar [580 psi]. It's extremely effective for controlling negative steering forces and eliminating the risk of runaway, even with articulated vehicles that use only one differential cylinder.
OSPU hydraulic steering units
Danfoss has designed the OSPU as an alternative to dual-displacement steering units. With up to four-to-one flow amplification, it delivers best-in-class manual steering over a wide application range, providing displacements of 120 cm3 to 500 cm3 [7.32 in3 to 30.51 in3] with normal pump supply. A progressive-displacement option secures smooth performance in both slow and fast steering modes.
Series 25 hydraulic steering units
Our high-efficiency series 25 steering units provide precise control. Available with flow rates from 95 l/min to 189 l/min [25 US gal/min to 50 US gal/min] for pressures up to 240 bar [3,500 psi], they feature a balanced architecture and an optimized thick-sleeve design that provides reliable, smooth performance even when pressures and temperatures change quickly.
Series 40 hydraulic steering units
Our series 40 steering control units provide high flow rates and design flexibility for demanding steering applications. They help powerful vehicles get big tasks done smoothly and efficiently with flow rates between 151 l/min and 227 l/min [40 US gal/min and 60 US gal/min] at pressures up to 240 bar [3,500 psi].
Series 5 hydraulic steering units
Our series 5 steering control units are ideal for small turf care and utility vehicle applications and are available with end or side porting to provide design flexibility. For flow rates from 11 l/min to 19 l/min [3 US gal/min to 5 US gal/min] and pressures up to 140 bar [2,030 psi], they provide excellent steering feel, crisp centering, and high efficiency.
VSPP hydraulic steering units
Available with displacement from 50 cm3 to 400 cm3 [3.1 in3 to 24.4 in3], our compact VSPP steering unit minimizes the cost, space, and time needed for installation. It provides good performance for small, low-power tractors or any manual-steering application with standard options.
