Compensated directional control valves

Our compensated directional control valves are continuously stackable and can be seamlessly combined using a modular approach. With valve sizes ranging from 65 l/min to 500 l/min [17 US gal/min to 132 US gal/min], the portfolio offers an almost infinite number of components and configurations to provide smooth and consistent machine control that meets your requirements. From open-center mechanical options to compensated CAN-bus-controlled variants, we have solutions for all types of off-highway applications.

Features and benefits

  • Multiple modules and options available in each valve group
  • Stackable with up to 14 independent sections
  • Possible combination with the rest of the spool valve portfolio, using interface modules
  • Load-independent flow control
  • Reliable regulation characteristics across the entire flow range
  • Load sense relief valves for A and B port enables reduced energy loss at target pressure
  • Compact design, easy installation and serviceability

  • Inlet modules category image

    Inlet modules

Inlet modules, also referred to as proportional valve pump side modules, act as interfaces between the proportional valve group and the hydraulic pump and reservoir. An open-center inlet is used for a fixed-displacement gear pump, and a closed-center inlet is used for an open-circuit axial piston pump.

  • Work modules category image

    Work modules

A proportional valve basic (PVB) module, also known as a work section, is the interface between a proportional valve group and a work function such as a cylinder or motor. Each PVB has built-in work-section control functionality, and we have products to accommodate a wide range of flows from simple non-compensated to load-independent, meter-in compensated.

  • Function modules category image

    Function modules

Function modules allow you to leverage the flexibility of a platform design by adding functionality at the stack level while still allowing for variation to meet specific needs. Predefined interfaces will help you get prototypes to market more quickly.

  • Spools category image

    Spools

When a work function such as a cylinder or motor is connected to a work section, a spool can be used to change its speed (by adjusting flow) or its power output (by adjusting pressure buildup). A spool is chosen to match a work section's activation method, and each is equipped with a spring that returns it to a neutral position when power is disrupted.

  • Electrical actuation category image

    Electrical actuation

Our proportional-valve electro-hydraulic actuators provide fast, accurate, and reliable valve operation under varying conditions. We offer a wide variety of speed and hysteresis capabilities to precisely suit your application needs, and all actuators are designed to plug and perform with our PLUS+1® joysticks and controllers.

  • Mechanical actuation category image

    Mechanical actuation

A spool can be operated in a variety of ways to control a work function. Our standard valve designs support direct manual spool control and the easy integration of other means of electric and hydraulic actuation.

  • Accessories category image

    Accessories

To help you tailor your valve stack solutions, we offer a variety of accessories that are each designed to work universally within a product family.

  • End modules category image

    End modules

Our PVS end modules (end plates) close off the valve stack. They are available with built-in features to help you tailor the stack to your application's needs.

  • Assembly kits category image

    Assembly kits

An assembly kit is used to tie a complete valve stack together into a continuous unit.
