Char-Lynn motors

Danfoss Char-Lynn spool-valve and disc-valve motors offer displacements from 8 cm³ to 940 cm³ [0.5 in³ to 57.4 in³] and continuous pressure ratings up to 225 bar [3,250 psi]. Spool-valve models like the J, H, S, and T series feature integrated shaft valving and journal bearings, ideal for applications such as harvesting and food processing. Disc-valve motors offer enhanced pressure capabilities and customizable options for shafts, bearings, ports, and mounting.

  • 2000 series single-speed motors category image

    2000 series single-speed motors

The durable, reliable 2000 series motors provide torque up to 850 Nm [627 lb-ft] thanks to a proven design. The latest innovation in this series is our patented “Drive-in-Drive” technology that widens the range of available displacements, and many options are available to make these motors suitable for a wide variety of applications.

  • 2000 series two-speed motors category image

    2000 series two-speed motors

Danfoss 2000 series motors are available with an integral two-speed feature that changes the displacement in a ratio of one to two and shifts the motor from a low-speed, high-torque (LSHT) mode to a high-speed, low-torque (HSLT) mode. The open-center selector valve shifts the speed mode from low to high when a pilot pressure of at least 6.9 dbar [100 dpsi] over case pressure is applied to the pilot port.In the high-speed mode, torque values are approximately one-half thoseof the conventional 2000 series single-speed motors, and speeds are approximately double.

  • Delta series motors category image

    Delta series motors

The Delta motor provides torque up to 1,299 Nm [958 lb-ft] andmany best-in-class features including its optimized Geroler, disc valve technology, and bearing capacity. An optional spring-applied, pressure-release parking brake offers a six-to-one mechanical advantage for dependable load holding.

  • 4000 series motors category image

    4000 series motors

The 4000 series motors featurethe same architecture as the industry-leading 2000 series motors, but they havea larger frame forhigher torques and flows withcontinuous ratings up to 972 Nm [717lb-ft] and 95 l/min [25 US gal/min], respectively.

  • 4000 series compact motors category image

    4000 series compact motors

With an intermittent torque rating of 1,220 Nm [900 lb-ft], this compact disc-valve hydraulic motor provides the torque of a4000 series motorfrom the envelope size of a 2000 series. A variety of mounting options include a pair of two-bolt mounts (SAE A, SAE B) and fourfour-bolt mounts (magneto, standard, and wheel mounts). For added flexibility, the motor can usethe larger-size shaft of the 2000 series or the standard-size shaftof the 4000 series.

  • 6000 series motors category image

    6000 series motors

With torque up to 1,685 Nm [1,250 lb-ft] and flow up to 150 l/min [40 US gal/min] continuous, this motor provides high power density and smooth operation.

  • 10,000 series motors category image

    10,000 series motors

This is our biggest disc-valve motor, yet it still offers exceptional efficiency and side-load capability. In continuous mode, it provides high power with flows up to 170 l/min [45 US gal/min] and torque up to 2,700 Nm [1,993 ft-lb].

  • H series motors category image

    H series motors

Designed for medium-duty applications, these motors use industry-proven spool valve technology combined with state-of-the-art gerotors. In addition, a wide variety of mounting flanges, shafts, parts, and valving options provide design flexibility. Direction of shaft rotation and shaft speed can be controlled easily and smoothly throughout the speed range of the motor, and equipment can be driven directly, eliminating costly mechanical components.

  • J series motors category image

    J series motors

Danfoss Char-Lynn J series motors provide a lot of power, up to 5 kW [6.5 hp],from a very small package. They are 61 mm [2.4 in] in diameter and 104 mm to 130 mm [4.1 in to 5.1 in] in length. The J series motor shaft and seal allow return line pressures up to 76 bar [1,100 psi]without a case drain line and peak pressures of 220 bar [3,190 psi] in the return line.

  • S series motors category image

    S series motors

The Danfoss Char-Lynn S series motors with optimized Geroler sets and steel end caps offer enhanced performance with reduced drive-running angle while retaining a compact package size. The Geroler set has precision-machined rollers in the outer ring tosupport the rolling contact between the star and ring. This improves mechanical efficiency, especially at start-up and at low speeds. These motors provide reliable, leak-free performance and smooth start-up operation.

  • T series motors with brake category image

    T series motors with brake

Using the same Geroler and spool valve technologies as standard Danfoss Char-Lynn motors, the T series motor with parking brake uses brake pads that rotate at six times the speed of the output shaft, providing a six-to-one mechanical advantage. In addition to thereby providing dependable load-holding capability, itprovides the same smooth, reliable operation and performance as the standard T series motors.

  • T series motors without brake category image

    T series motors without brake

T series motors feature the latest innovations in Geroler technology, including optimized Geroler geometry with a lower drive-running angle forimproved life andlow-speed performance. In addition, the improved housing and smaller-diameter end cap provide greater envelope rigidity to improve efficiency under high pressure loads. All these innovations come together to makethe highest-performing motor in its class.
