Cartridge valves
Our cartridge valves are compact, economical components used to control direction, pressure up to 350 bar [5,000 psi], and flow up to 400 l/min [100 US gal/min]. We offer over 450 cartridge valves including everything from simple check valves to high-precision proportional valves, and by combining these in a hydraulic integrated circuit (HIC), you can create a custom control manifold.
Our cartridge valve portfolio includes:
- Check valves
- Shuttle valves
- Relief valves
- Pressure reducing valves
- Sequence and unloading valves
- Flow control valves
- Directional control valves
- Logic elements
- Motion control valves
- Solenoid valves

Check valves
We offer a broad portfolio of check valves with flow ratings up to 300 l/min [80 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,000 psi]. Integrated circuit solution (ICS) check valves are available in standard, reverse-flow, slip-in, and inline models. Our direct-operated valves fit into industry-standard cavities and may be installed in manifolds, and our pilot-operated models are often used for position-load locking or, when neither overrunning loads nor release speed are factors, as alternatives to counterbalance valves.
Shuttle valves
Danfoss offers primarily hot-oil shuttle valves and load shuttle valves with the latter configurable in either a normal or in-line direction. Available in many sizes with flow ratings up to 90 l/min [24 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 450 bar [6,500 psi], these valves can be used in a variety of ways for anything from load sensing to loop flushing.
Relief valves
Relief valves are used as pressure-limiting devices to protect hydraulic systems and components. With flow ratings up to 380 l/min [100 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 400 bar [5,800 psi], our relief valves are available in various types, including direct acting, differential area, pilot operated, bi-directional, and crossover HIC.
Pressure-reducing valves
Pressure-reducing valves limit pressure in one portion of a circuit without affecting system pressure. With flow ratings up to 300 l/min [80 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,075 psi], they are available in direct-acting or pilot-operated types for pressure reducing/relieving or reducing alone.
Sequence and unloading valves
To control function timing and improve efficiency, sequence valves usually use a pressure signal to shift a spool, thereby opening or closing a flow path at a preset pressure. Our product range includes direct-acting, pilot-operated, kick-down, and unloading valves with flow ratings up to 250 l/min [60 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,000 psi].
Directional control valves
Our full line of directional control valves includes both manually and hydraulically actuated options for flows up to 265 l/min [70 gal/min] and pressures up to 450 bar [6,500 psi]. Multiple sizes and schematic types are available, and hydraulically actuated spool valves are offered in normally open or normally closed two-way, three-way, or four-way styles. These two-position valves are spring biased to a neutral position and use hydraulic pressure between 3 bar and 10 bar [40 psi and 150 psi] to shift the spool.
Logic elements
Logic elements are multi-purpose devices used with other cartridge valves to create pressure-, flow-, and direction-control circuits. Flow ratings up to 400 l/min [100 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,000 psi] are available for use in applications like fixed-displacement pump load sensing or bypass-type pressure-compensated flow control.
Motion control valves
Overcenter and motion-control valves provide static and dynamic load control by regulating flow into and out of hydraulic actuators. With pressure ratings up to 430 bar [6,200 psi] and flow ratings up to 300 l/min [80 US gal/min], these valves improve machine stability and efficiency while eliminating valve noise and protecting against runaway loads if a hose bursts.
Solenoid valves
Solenoid valves are electrically operated on-off poppet or spool valves used for load-holding, blocking, or directional-control applications. We offer over 100 standard or high-pressure models with flow ratings up to 227 l/min [60 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,000 psi]. A variety of options are available, and combinations of position and porting from 2/2 to 3/5 can be arranged.
Proportional valves
Our wide variety of proportional valve styles includes bi-directional, uni-directional, poppet, spool, normally closed, normally open, pressure reducing, pressure relieving, and flow control. Our portfolio includes products in many sizes with flow ratings up to 180 l/min [48 US gal/min] and pressure ratings up to 350 bar [5,000 psi] to provide the perfect product for any application.
Coils and electronics
Danfoss offers both standard and robust coils in a variety of sizes, DC and AC voltages, environmental protection levels, and connections to meet any application need. Our robust coils and Tough Coils are specifically designed for harsh operating environments and have high tolerance for temperature extremes, voltage spikes, and water exposure.
